Information:

Aurelio Alfaro Rodriguez is a Restoration Assistant in the Colorado River Delta Legacy Program. Before joining the Sonoran Institute, Alfaro Rodríguez worked in assembly factories (maquiladoras) and vegetable harvesting in Mexicali. His first contact with Sonoran Institute's restoration activities was through the Temporary Employment Program (PET) that Mexico’s Ministry of Environment (SEMARNAT) funded to restore 5 acres of riparian habitat along the Colorado River during the summer of 2008. Alfaro Rodríguez joined Sonoran Institute’s staff in October of 2008 and enjoys his work because he sees how restoration work helps increase habitat for wildlife and birds. His vision of restored sites is to have ongoing tourism, recreational, and educational activities. He also likes being part of the Sonoran Institute team where he receives ongoing training.
